Website terms of use

These terms cover this website. The agreement about the controller in your board is separate, and is the one that matters.

Version 1.0 · Effective 20 September 2026 · Energy Lens (Pty) Ltd

1. Who operates this site

This website is operated by Energy Lens (Pty) Ltd, trading as PowerSync. The particulars section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 requires us to publish are on the company disclosures page.

2. What this site is for

To explain the programme, to let you check whether it runs where you live, to let you check whether somebody at your door is one of our installers, and to publish the documents we are required to publish. It is not the resident app, and it does not control anybody’s geyser.

3. What you may do with it

Read it, print it, and share links to it. You may quote from it with attribution. You may not copy the site wholesale, scrape it at a rate that degrades it for other people, misrepresent it as yours, or use our name, logo or the look of the site in a way that suggests we endorse something we do not.

4. Accuracy, and what these pages are not

We take care with what is published here and we correct errors when we find them. Even so, the pages describing the product are a description, not a specification: if you need a guaranteed technical parameter, ask us in writing and we will give it to you in writing.

Nothing on this site is legal, financial, engineering or electrical advice, and nothing here is an offer capable of acceptance. An enrolment is a request to take part; the agreement is formed when we confirm it.

We publish no savings percentages and no installed-unit figures, because we have none that have been independently verified. If you are shown such a number by anyone in this market, including us, ask what the baseline method was.

5. The installer check

The installer check tells you whether a name or registration number is in our register of appointed installers. A result saying we have no record is a reason not to let that person in. A result confirming an appointment is not a substitute for asking to see identification at the door, and it is not a warranty of that person’s conduct.

6. Availability

We do not promise the site will be available without interruption. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it. If the site is down, the programme keeps running — your controller does not depend on this website.

7. Links out

Where we link to another organisation’s site — a regulator, a statute — we are pointing at a source, not endorsing its contents, and we do not control what it publishes.

8. Intellectual property

The text, design, drawings, logos and code of this site belong to Energy Lens (Pty) Ltd or are used with permission. The PowerSync name and mark are ours. Names of other companies and products are used descriptively and belong to their owners.

9. Security

Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to this site or anything behind it. If you find a vulnerability, tell us at info@powersync.co.za before telling anyone else, and give us a reasonable chance to fix it. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine finding to us in good faith and does not exploit it or take data.

10. Liability

We are liable for loss we cause you that is a reasonably foreseeable consequence of our breach. We are not liable for loss arising from your reliance on general descriptive material on this site where a written answer was available and you did not ask for one. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

11. Privacy

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and loads nothing from a third-party origin. What we do collect, and what happens to it, is in the privacy notice.

12. Law

South African law governs these terms, and the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction.
