2. What we offer, and on what terms

We provide a water-heating control service to households in participating municipalities. The controller, its installation and the resident app are supplied at no charge to the household. There is no payment step in the programme, no subscription and no deposit. The full terms are in the programme terms, which are available on this site before you enrol, may be read without enrolling, and can be printed or saved.

3. Price, payment and security

There is no price to a resident, and consequently no payment arrangement and no payment system to secure. We do not take card or banking details at any point. If you are ever asked for them in our name, you are not dealing with us — tell us at info@powersync.co.za.

4. Your right to cancel — section 44

Where you enrol through this website, section 44 of the ECT Act gives you seven days from enrolment to cancel, without reason and without penalty. This right is described where you enrol as well as here. Cancelling is free; write to us or use the app.

If you enrolled at your door rather than on this site, a different right applies — five business days, under section 16 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Both are set out in the programme terms.

5. Complaints, and dispute resolution

Complaints go to info@powersync.co.za and are acknowledged within five business days. If we cannot resolve it, you may refer the matter to the National Consumer Commission, to an ombud with jurisdiction, or to a court. Privacy complaints may go to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at complaints.IR@justice.gov.za. We do not require you to arbitrate and we do not require you to come to us first.

6. Alternative dispute resolution and codes of conduct

We do not currently subscribe to an accredited alternative dispute resolution scheme or an industry code of conduct for this service. We say so rather than leave the heading out, which is the more common way of answering this requirement.

7. Security and privacy

The security measures applied to your information, and the way we handle it, are described in the privacy notice. Requests for records held by the company are handled under the PAIA manual.

8. Records of the transaction

You can obtain a full record of your enrolment, the consents you gave and the version of the wording they were given against, by asking at info@powersync.co.za or through the resident app.
