Check an installer
Nobody should be in your home you have not checked.
If someone is at your door saying they are here to fit a PowerSync controller, look them up here first. We would far rather you kept a genuine installer waiting on the step than let the wrong person in.
Warning signs
None of these are ever us
- Asking you for money, for the device, for the installation, or for anything else.
- Asking for a password, a one-time PIN, a card number or your banking details.
- Refusing to show identification, or becoming impatient while you check it.
- Saying the installation is compulsory, or that your supply will be cut if you refuse.
- Needing access to your roof, your geyser or your plumbing. The work is in your board.
- Arriving without you having been contacted first to agree a time.
If any of that happens, close the door and contact us on info@powersync.co.za.
For installers
Work we will put our name to.
Fitting is confined to the distribution board and takes twenty to thirty minutes. We are looking for registered people who can do that work properly, document it, and behave well in someone's home.
What we require
- Registration as a registered person under the Electrical Installation Regulations, current and verifiable.
- A certificate of compliance issued for every installation, to SANS 10142-1.
- Photographs of the board before and after, and the controller serial recorded, through the installer mode in the app.
- Identification carried and shown at the door, without being asked.
- No payment, passwords or banking details ever requested from a resident.
We are appointing installers area by area as municipalities come on. If that is the kind of work you do properly, write to us — tell us where you work and send your registration details.
